A chance to raise awareness about the 211 services that are available to people in Connecticut in their time of need.

Last year in Connecticut, 211 responded to more than 1.7 million requests for help.

That's a 300% increase since 2019, and that excludes COVID-related requests.

These winter months are a critical time for people in need.

With the rising cost of groceries, 211 is getting more calls for help with emergency food and meals.

211 has also been helping with emergency housing, utility assistance, and health care.

Helping everyone from veterans to children and families in desperate need.

"By dialing 211 you can reach an expert in the resources available to help you and your family whether its emergency food you might need, utility assistance, in fact even if you're facing homelessness," said Lisa Tepper Bates, President of United Way of Connecticut.

211 services are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

In Connecticut there is a database of over 40,000 programs, 4,000 community resources and government resources available to help people.
