A 24-year-old woman was identified by police after a deadly car crash in Bridgeport.

Chelsy Naesha Torres, 24, of Bridgeport, died of her injuries at Bridgeport Hospital Monday.

The crash happened on Pembroke Street near the intersection of Boston Avenue around 3:30 p.m.

A silver-colored 2021 Toyota Rav4 with two women and two children was struck from behind by a 2011 Buick Regal Cxl four door sedan.

The two vehicles ended up in the median of Boston Avenue, and one car flipped onto its roof at the start of the afternoon rush hour.

Witnesses say traffic was backed up as a result, and one of the cars may have been speeding.
