Habitat for Humanity of Coastal Fairfield County celebrated a triple house dedication in Bridgeport on Saturday.
Three families received the keys to their new, energy-efficient homes on Clifford Street.
After partnering with Habitat CFC, the families were able to build their homes along with volunteers and pay affordable mortgages. The families also received custom quilts, books and tools from local partners.
“I looked over at her and I said, ‘This is the last time we're going to move,’” said Candice Stanford. “Just the cycle…I don’t have to worry about that anymore.”
“Thank God for everything. Thank God for my family, now we have a place to call home,” said Alma L. Machado.
The community also held a blessing and dedication for a partner home in Haiti.
Habitat for Humanity gives 10% of its funds to build homes in other countries.
