Bridgeport police are investigating three unrelated shootings that occurred over a three-hour period Monday night, including one that critically injured a man.
The most serious shooting happened at the intersection of Whitney Avenue and Charles Street at around 11:30 p.m.
Police say 24 year-old Raheem Dicks was shot in the arm and chest. He remains in critical condition.
Authorities say they found Dicks' rifle lying next to him, but that he wasn't allowed to own a gun because he is a convicted felon.
Police say Dicks is expected to be charged not only for his illegal firearm but for cocaine hospital nurses found on him too.
Bridgeport police say despite Monday night's shootings, crime is actually at a 40-year low in Bridgeport.
