(12/07/07) BRIDGEPORT ? An out-of-control SUV plowed into a Bridgeport home Friday morning, but three people managed to escape the incident unharmed.
Police say the incident occurred around 9 a.m. The driver of the SUV says she swerved to avoid another car, lost control of her vehicle and smashed into the front porch of a home at 534 Connecticut Ave.
Just before crashing into the home, the SUV side-swiped a nearby idling truck and barely missed a man who was inside warming up the vehicle.
The home?s resident, Brenda Santiago, was inside at the time of the crash.
?It was a loud noise,? Santiago says. ?I thought it was one of those tractor-trailers that the equipment fell out or something. It was loud.?
Firefighters say the crash buckled doors on the second floor of the house. The SUV has been removed from the house.
