The program, established in 1964, selects 161 students nationwide for one of the nation's highest honors for graduating seniors. They are selected based on academic success, achievements in the arts and technical education.
The list of students was announced by Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona.
Cy Pavlov of Trumbull is the first student from Trumbull High School to ever be chosen.
Also selected is Leigh Foran of Staples High School in Westport, and Annika Fleur Emilia Mengwall of Darien High School.
The students' achievements will be showcased this summer through an online recognition program.
