State lawmakers were stunned Monday after both Fairfield-based companies General Electric and Aetna threatened to leave the state over a proposed state tax increase.
 
GE, Aetna and the Travelers all slammed a plan to raise taxes on corporations crafted in a tax package in Hartford on Monday.
 
The democratic leader came out quickly and said changes are in the works to the $40 billion budget.
 
No details of those changes have been announced as lawmakers head back to work on the budget plan today.
