Bridgeport residents celebrated the 31st annual Juneteenth Parade and Harambee Festival Saturday at Seaside Park.
Revelers filled the streets to march in a parade and commemorate the national holiday.
“I'm feeling good. I come here every year to support the Juneteenth parade and I love it. It's awesome,” said Latrice Sanders.
Attendees said the event was an important celebration of American history.
"It's about us being free, finally free, after the Emancipation Proclamation. We're just happy to be here,” said Earl G. King Jr.
"It's a beautiful feeling to be out here with my people on this special day, celebrating something that's history to us,” said Dawn Rogers.
