Service into and out of Penn Station New York resumed Friday afternoon after a disruption that lasted through the morning rush hour because of an overnight Amtrak fire in one of the Hudson River tunnels, NJ Transit said.
NJ Transit said Friday afternoon that travelers should expect delays up to 60 minutes with possible cancellations. Midtown Direct service is still being diverted to Hoboken.
NJ Transit rail tickets and passes are being cross-honored by NJ Transit and private carrier bus and PATH at Newark Penn Station, Hoboken and 33rd Street, NJ Transit said.
The FDNY says five people were injured in the fire -- two seriously and the other three refused medical attention.
NJ Transit says there is Amtrak overhead wire damage from an earlier Amtrak track car fire in one of the Hudson River tunnels.

The FDNY says they received the first call for a fire on Track 11 around 1:30 a.m.
The fire was brought under control by 4 a.m.
