An early Monday morning fire in Norwalk displaced four adults and two children, according to Norwalk fire officials. There were no injuries.

When the firefighters arrived at 4 Camp Street, they found smoke coming from both floors of the home.

Officials say fire was found in the finished basement and spread to the first floor living room. It was extinguished in about 20 minutes.

They say the occupants were able to get out of the house safely after smoke detectors were triggered. A cat was removed by firefighters.

The American Red Cross is assisting residents. It wasn’t immediately clear how the fire started.
