Eight people were arrested in Bridgeport Wednesday for having outstanding domestic violence warrants, including a man who is accused of sexually assaulting an 11-year-old, police say.
One of the eight arrested in Operation Purple Shield is Patrick Curry.
He is accused of sexually assaulting an 11-year-old family member.
Curry was charged with sexual assault, sexual contract with a person under 16 and risk of injury to a minor.
His bond was set at $200,000.
Brionna Bland was also arrested.
They were charged with assault, unlawful restraint, reckless endangerment, breach of peace and criminal mischief.
Their bond was set at $100,000.
The group was expected to appear in court Wednesday.
Police say the operation is part of Chief Porter's efforts to combat domestic violence.
