A car crashed into a popular store in Fairfield Friday night.

Police say it happened at Mo's Wine and Spirits on the Post Road, just before 10 p.m.

They say an 86-year-old driver was trying to park in front of the store when he hit the gas and struck the front of the building.

The driver was not hurt, but the car was heavily damaged.

Police say the driver was not charged, but the crash is being reported to the DMV for review of his driving record.
