Authorities have released 911 recordings in the chimpanzee attack of a woman in Stamford.In the recordings, Sandra Herold tells the dispatcher that the pet was ripping her friend, Charla Nash, to pieces. Herold pleaded with police to shoot the chimpanzee. "The chimp killed my friend!" says a sobbing Herold, who washiding in her vehicle. "Send the police with a gun. With a gun!" The dispatcher later asks, "Who's killing your friend?" "My chimpanzee!" she cries. "He ripped her apart! Shoot him,shoot him!"Police say the attack lasted about 12 minutes before the chimpanzee was shot and killed. Nash remains in critical condition. Gregg Dancho, the director of the Beardsley Zoo, says he was not surprised to learn of the attack. Dancho says a 200-pound chimpanzee is stronger than three people and could be very aggressive.
