Sen. Richard Blumenthal is seeking answers from Amazon after receiving complaints from constituents about delivery failures, including one from Janice Hill, of Bridgeport.
"I'm angry because I got cheated out of more than $100," Hill said Sunday.
Hill says Amazon delivered a winter coat she ordered to a neighbor's address and is refusing to give her a refund, which she considers a "breach of contract."
"The delivery went missing and now I'm out the money," she said.
Blumenthal says the missed delivery is Amazon's fault, and he plans to intervene and potentially create legislation to help curve such errors in the future.
"This wrongful missed delivery is Amazon's fault, not Janice's. She deserves a refund, and if necessary, I will intervene with Amazon and also seek legislation to provide more protection," Blumenthal said, citing "a pattern of systemic failures" by the retail giant.
News 12 reached out to Amazon for a comment but had not heard back as of Sunday night.
