Members of the Bureau of Education and Services for the Blind came together Saturday at the Milford Public Library to talk about their goals.
The group is lobbying Congress for the passage of several measures, including improving medical devices and providing venues to meet and talk about ways to improve access and services for the blind.
"We can overcome, and that's part of our life motto is that we can be independent. We love being independent," said the Bureau's Jim Cronin.
Organizers said they are Connecticut's leading bureau for coordinating and delivering services to residents who are blind and sight impaired.
