Local veteran advocates are hopeful a veteran K9 can walk again after being hit by a vehicle.
Bane, a German shepherd, was walking with his handler last Tuesday in Glastonbury when a distracted truck driver hit him.
The dog has been sedated while veterinarians work on a broken pelvis and other broken bones.
Bane served in Afghanistan and Iraq. His handler, Dean Moore, also served in Afghanistan.
With medical bills approaching $10,000, many want to help the dog who has been part of a number of veteran ceremonies in Norwalk.
