Bridgeport detectives say forensic tests confirm a skull they came across Monday night, at 230 Madison Ave., is human.
Police are beginning their investigation of what officials say appears to be evidence from an Afro-Caribbean religious ritual. They say they're processing blood samples from the scene to determine if it's human or animal blood. Officials also say a forensics lab is trying to find out where the skull came from. Investigators say they found a small alligator head, some animal horns and what appears to be a sheep?s or goat?s head, among other carcass remains.
The five residents of the raided apartment were arrested and arraigned on various drug charges. Police say they confiscated an ounce and a half of marijuana, guns and cash. Investigators say more charges could be on the way as they move forward with their investigation.
