Alex Jones filed an appeal for his $1.4 billion defamation verdict for promoting false conspiracy theories about the Sandy Hook school massacre.
The appeal argues it was not proven Jones knowingly broadcasted conspiracy theories to the victims' families in order to drive internet sales.
During the trial late last year, eight victims’ relatives and an FBI agent testified about being threatened and harassed for years by people who deny the shooting happened. Strangers showed up at some of their homes and confronted some of them in public. People hurled abusive comments at them on social media and in emails. Some received death and rape threats.
