Today is the first day of the Westport Farmers Market which has been going on for 17 years.
Lori Cochran has been the executive director of Westport Farmers Market for 13 years and says she loves the sense of community that the market brings.
"It just really allows people to slow down. We're in a place in life that is so busy, so to come to a place like a farmers market it just reconnects you," she says. The market features more than 60 registered vendors who offer everything from bagels, coffee, flowers, herbs, and beer.
Vendors at the market also practice sustainability by including plastic-free packaging.
