The Alzheimer's Association is using the summer solstice to bring attention to its latest fundraising campaign for research efforts.
The Longest Day fundraiser encourages people to come up with creative ways to fundraise for research efforts.
June is also Alzheimer's and Brain Awareness Month.
Experts say It's important to do checkups and get an early diagnosis.
The Alzheimer's Association Connecticut Chapter says two-thirds of those with the disease are women, and African Americans are twice as likely to develop Alzheimer's.
Experts also say it can happen to people at any age.
