"American Idol" took over New York City with two days of callback auditions.
The singing competition brought dozens of "Idol" hopefuls to the stage at the Marriott Hotel in Downtown Brooklyn, where News 12 caught up with some of the judges, including Bronx native Jennifer Lopez.
She was joined by Harry Connick Jr. and Adam Lambert, who is temporarily filling in for Keith Urban. Judges say contestants need to keep in mind that it really comes down to talent and song choice.
Lopez said that after hearing the local talent, she wouldn't be shocked if the next winner came from her home city. Meanwhile, former Idol contestant Lambert said he was thrilled to be on the other side of the judging table.
The few contestants who made it through will be heading to the show's next round in Hollywood.
