The Americares Foundation in Stamford prepared disaster kits for Giving Tuesday.

Volunteers helped put together over 3,000 kits with essential hygiene products. They include toothbrushes, toothpaste, hair care items and more.

These kits will be sent all over the country and world for displaced families during natural disasters or humanitarian crises.

“These kits will be put on our shelves here in our Stamford global distribution center once they're ready,” said Christine Squires, president and CEO of Americares. “They'll be ready to deploy when an emergency strikes.”

Donations made on Tuesday under $10,000 will be matched 8 times-over by anonymous donors.

More information is available on the Americares website.
