The Amity Regional Board of Education held a meeting in Woodbridge Monday night to share a proposal for a new set of guidelines aimed at accommodating transgender students.
The district superintendent says a first draft of that policy was presented at the meeting and board members were able to offer feedback.
This proposal comes after a meeting in June where members of the community expressed concerns about the district's commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion.
Parents at Monday’s meeting also shared concerns about policies over mask mandates, vaccination policies for homecoming and wanting a stronger voice in what schools teach.
