The Stratford community gathered Saturday to honor the teacher who died saving her students during the Sandy Hook massacre.
Friends and family laced up their sneakers Saturday for the third annual Vicki Soto 5K Run.
Organizers say the event benefits a scholarship program for students majoring in education.
Earlier in the week, Soto's loved ones celebrated what would have been her 30th birthday.
Soto's brother, Carlos, says the run was all about coming together.
"It felt absolutely wonderful to see all these people come out and celebrate Vicki's life and celebrate her passion for teaching and her passion for fun," he says.
