Bridgeport firefighters gathered for an emotional ceremony today to remember two colleagues who were killed in the line of duty four years ago.
Bells rang and bagpipes played for Lt. Steven Velasquez and firefighter Michel Baik, who lost their lives battling a fire on Elmwood Avenue.
Both Velasquez and Baik left behind families with young children, who all attended the ceremonies.
Those who worked with the two men say the anniversary is a time to celebrate all they gave to the department.
Lt. James Buck says that the fire department has been in constant contact with the families of Velasquez and Baik.
News 12 Connecticut is told that a memorial service will continue to be held on each anniversary of their deaths.
