FORECAST:
We’ve got some really pleasant weather ahead. Low humidity and comfortable temperatures will make for some great summer days.
By this afternoon, expect some sunshine breaking through. Highs will be cooler than average again, topping out in the upper 70s. Onshore winds will help keep things feeling nice and mild.
The next couple of nights will feel refreshingly cool, with lows dipping into the 50s up north and settling in the low 60s across southern areas.
Enjoy this stretch of cooler, more comfortable weather while it lasts—because next week, things start heating up again. Parts of the tri-state could be looking at another heat wave.
Western Connecticut might not quite hit official heat wave criteria, but with humidity climbing, it’ll feel like the 90s from Sunday onward.
Looking a bit farther out, we’re keeping an eye on the tropics. The National Hurricane Center has flagged a couple of areas in the Atlantic that could see development. Tropical Storm Dexter is currently well offshore and not a threat to land, but other systems could try to form. For now, any impact on our local weather especially rain chances remains uncertain.
