The bomb squad was called to a Stamford Army recruiting center Monday when someone dropped a suspicious-looking envelope into a mailbox.

Stamford police were forced to evacuate stores and restaurants, while streets around the area were closed off.

An almost identical incident occurred less than a month ago, when police responded to a similar call. Investigators said that in both cases, the suspicious package consisted of a white envelope with writing, filled with batteries and wires. In both cases, the envelope was sent to the same Army recruiting center.

Police said they have no suspects at this time. They will continue to gather evidence and plan on taking a closer look at the fingerprints that were left on the envelope.

Police are interviewing people who were in downtown Stamford Monday afternoon.

Local businesses said they?re losing thousands of dollars due to the bomb scares. Crowds were evacuated and streets were closed for both bomb scares.
