A man has been arrested in connection with a large altercation at a hookah lounge in Bridgeport, leading to the discovery of "unsafe conditions" within the establishment.
According to the police, the owner of Hollywood Hookah on Main Street turned himself in last week following a warrant related to a November incident. Authorities were initially called to the lounge after reports of a gunshot in an area where a large group had gathered.
Upon arrival, officers encountered a substantial fight both in the street and inside the establishment. After restoring order, authorities conducted a search of the lounge, revealing numerous violations such as overcrowding, covered smoke detectors, and a blocked exit. Additionally, a firearm was found nearby.
This incident follows a previous shooting in March that left a man in critical condition. The lounge owner is scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 16.
