Light show brings former shops in Downtown Stamford back to life
A one-time only light show Wednesday night brought back the shops and people who used to reside in Downtown Stamford now occupied by the mall.
Photographs of long-lost mom-and-pop businesses run by immigrants from all over the world were projected on the wall of Macy's. Music filled the air as faces and places of the 1920s came back to life.
This event was organized by the Jewish Historical Society of Fairfield County, but the event was geared to include as many cultures as possible.
Organizers say they got the idea from a similar installation in North Carolina.
