A walk down Arthur Avenue in Belmont is like being in a winter wonderland with holiday music filling the air.
Umberto's Clam House along with 20 other restaurants, delis and grocery stores put up the money to install speakers along Arthur Avenue. The owner of Umberto's says the owners decided something needed to be done to bring Christmas back to Little Italy. The music is controlled by a timer and plays from 10:30 a.m. to about 10 p.m. Some patrons have been receptive to the idea while others feel it's a bit too much.
Organizers say even if it snows, the music will continue to play thanks to waterproof speakers. The holiday spirit will live on until the day after Christmas.
