A fire at a 12-story apartment in Stamford Saturday night resulted in two residents being hospitalized.
Officials say crews responded to the building on Prospect Street and found a floor sanding machine on fire inside a first floor apartment.
It created a significant amount of smoke that moved into the first floor hallway and lobby as residents were evacuating.
The condition of the two individuals who were hospitalized is currently unknown.
Authorities say the cause of the fire is under investigation.
