The former Greenwich church music director convicted of possessing child pornography is facing new accusations ahead of his scheduled sentencing.
Prosecutors say Robert Tate permitted two sexual predators to remain in the church?s choir at various times.
According to authorities, one of the two sexual predators was an assistant organist that Tate rehired even though the individual was initially fired for sexually assaulting a choir boy. Police say Tate also failed to tell authorities when the organist assaulted another church choir boy.
Tate was the choir director for 34 years at Christ Episcopal Church. He faces nine to 11 years in prison under guidelines when he is sentenced Thursday.
Tate is expected to apologize in front of the judge at his sentencing.
