Authorities will resume a search and rescue operation today for two men who went into the Housatonic River in New Milford.
New Milford police say a group from the Bronx was having a picnic not far from Route 7 in New Milford near the Kent town line when one man in his 20s began to struggle in the water around 5 p.m. on Wednesday.
They say another man, around the same age, tried to help and was also pulled under.
Divers from multiple agencies searched for the pair for hours last night, but there was no sight of them.
Police say the swimmers are two men in their early twenties from the Bronx.
Search and rescue teams from several different communities have all aided in this search.
