A bald eagle has died days after being struck by a car on Route 8, officials say.
The bird was rescued by state troopers and taken to the Audobon in Sharon after being struck by a car on Oct. 16.
Audobon officials say they brought the eagle to wildlife veterinarians at Kensington Bird & Animal Hospital for radiographs and a full examination to evaluate the severity of the injuries.
The bird suffered a serious fractured wing, and officials say he could not be saved.
Sharon Autobon officials released an update on their
Facebook page saying, "We are sad to say that the damage to the wing was so extensive that this beautiful bird could not be saved."
They say another eagle admitted to them last week is fighting for his life after suffering paralysis and seizures related to ingesting rat poison.
