Police are investigating after the theft of a dozen baseball bats from a Milford park.
Officials from the town's Parks and Recreation Department say the bats were stolen from three different fields last Thursday or Friday. Paul Piscitelli, the director of the department, says he believes whoever took them knew what they were doing, as the storage boxes are locked and there was no sign of forced entry.
The dozen bats are estimated to be worth $2,500, and officials say they plan to replace them as soon as possible.
