Officials at Beardsley Zoo in Bridgeport say they're proud to welcome the newest addition to their family - a baby black-handed spider monkey.

"Now we're asking the public to help us choose one of three names we've selected - Mirabel, Esperanza or Reyna - which honor the endangered creature's Central and South American heritage," said Rowena White.

Newly released videos show the infant - who was born in December - interacting playfully with her parents, and she will soon be on display.

Local residents - like Maria Hernandez - said all the names are beautiful.

"It's really hard to decide because I'm Latina and every single name is heartwarming to me," Hernandez said.

"It's going to be hard - but whoever the public picks, the baby will have a beautiful name!"
