He attended a fundraiser in New Haven for the state's Democratic party.
Clinton told the audience he believes the state is in a better place now than it was when Gov. Malloy first took office.
Most recent polls have Gov. Malloy and his Republican challenger Tom Foley in a tight race with Foley holding a slight lead.
