Hopefully you started digging out the winter attire because we are definitely going to need it tomorrow! While there is no snow to dig out from yet, we could also pair our coldest feeling day of the season so far with a few flurries or raindrops.
The focus though is definitely on how cold it will feel tonight through Veterans Day tomorrow. A FREEZE WARNING is in effect from 1 a.m. to 9 a.m. Tuesday. This will likely signify the end of the growing season on Long Island for this year.
With wind gusts up to around 40 mph at times, it will feel close to 20 degrees in the morning and at best around the low 30s in the afternoon on Tuesday. Please make sure you dress in layers if heading out to any Veterans Day events or for any reason at all!
That chance for a brief mixed rain or snow shower will be around late-morning through mid-afternoon.
Beyond the first real taste of a winter-like day tomorrow, the weather for the rest of the week will be decent! Expect cold mornings, but decent afternoons with a slight chill. High temperatures mostly back into the low 50s. It will stay breezy through Thursday before the wind subsides more over the weekend.
The next chance for any steady wet weather looks to be late Sunday into Monday at this time.
Have a great night and stay warm!
