A $1.7 trillion spending bill approved by Congress on Friday will soon provide money for heating assistance for Connecticut residents during the winter.
Sen. Richard Blumenthal says the bill will provide funding to help Connecticut's military manufacturing industry.
"This omnibus budget has major commitments to helicopters submarines, and F 35s, which means more jobs for Sikorsky making helicopters," he said. "We are going to see major investment in helicopters like rescue combat helicopters, the CH 43K."
Blumenthal also says President Biden is expected to sign the spending bill soon.
