A new boating safety bill named for a Greenwich teen called Emily's Law is now moving to the full State senate for action.
It was started in memory of 16-year-old Emily Fedorko, who was killed by the propeller of a boat operated by a friend last summer.
The bill would require powerboat operators to be at least 16 and complete a course in safe towing.
It was approved by Connecticut legislature's Judiciary Committee on Monday.
