New body-camera video shows a Newtown officer assaulted while responding to a disturbance on Sunday near Hanover Road.

Police say the officer told Daniel Morris to put down a bag, put his phone in his pocket, and said he was being detained. That’s when Morris hit the officer in the face.

The video shows a struggle before the officer regained control. Morris is facing charges.
