Some Bridgeport homeowners say they are concerned about a film of algae on a section of Charcoal Pond, which is located behind their homes.
Steven Goldstein, who lives near the pond, says the algae was first noticeable after Saturday's heavy rains. Goldstein and other residents are worried the algae has been caused by recent construction to widen the 100-year-old drainage spillway further upstream.
Residents wonder if construction crews are properly filtering the water and say they will monitor the algae level.
