City officials unveiled Thursday a $30 million plan to develop a waterfront complex on the old Carpenter Steel site in Bridgeport.
Amenities at the 152,000 square foot complex would include a grocery store, pharmacy and community center. Officials say the Port Authority will lease the property to private investors for development.
Bridgeport Mayor Bill Finch believes the project will inject life into the city's economy. The city hopes to get construction started next year.
