Wayne Winsley, a well-known Connecticut radio personality, says he's always wanted to help kids aim high and succeed in life.

"That's why I founded a nonprofit program in 2015 called Brave Enough to Fail, which teaches students things like time management, goal setting and effective communication," Winsley told News 12 Sunday.

Yasmin Tamanna, 17, just graduated from Central High School and will begin studying nursing at Fairfield University in the fall.

"I have learned so much through this program and I'm very grateful for it," Tamanna said.

Yasmin took the 12-session program at LifeBridge Community Services in Bridgeport.

"And I loved it so much," Tamanna said.

Winsley -- a proud U.S. Navy veteran -- says it's gratifying to give back.

"And that's why we do this -- to positively impact young lives," Winsley said.
