Police say a tip from a caregiver led them to evacuate a neighborhood in Bridgeport for over an hour Friday afternoon.
A patient told his caregiver that he had built a bomb in his Boston Avenue apartment, according to police. The caregiver then called 911.
In response, authorities shut down nearby streets in the Mill Hill section of the city to traffic and put Warren Harding High School on a lockdown. They also informed residents in nearby buildings that they had to leave their homes.
A state police bomb squad searched the apartment but found no bombs.
Police say the man who made the claim may face criminal charges.
