A Bridgeport artist is gaining national attention for his unique creations that aim to raise awareness about a global problem.
Daniel Lanzilotta has collected plastics and other trash for the past 20 years.
He finds garbage on beaches, waterways and roads and then turns the trash into intricate, delicate and detailed sculptures.
Lanzilotta's work was on display at the Westport Arts Center this summer and has been showcased in galleries across the country and in Europe.
He says he creates his artwork to bring attention to the pollution that plagues our planet.
