A Bridgeport woman spoke to News 12 Connecticut about her addiction to a designer drug that's sweeping southwestern Connecticut.Mary Olsen says she's addicted to bath salts, a drug that people can purchase legally if they're over the age of 18. Though the drug supposedly isn't intended for human consumption, it comes in a flashy wrapper that Olsen says is meant to appeal to kids.Olsen says she doesn't think she'll survive her addiction to the drug, which she says is more powerful and addictive than cocaine.State lawmakers tell News 12 Connecticut they're working on an emergency measure to deal with the problem.
