Bridgeport's Board of Education has a new leader.
School officials say the board nominated Dave Hennessey as chairman at a special meeting Monday night.
Hennessey defeated incumbent chairwoman Sauda Baraka by a vote of 6-3.
Hennessey is a retired teacher, and is in his second year on the board.
