A Bridgeport church aimed to get the word out about early voting with a "Souls To Polls" event Sunday morning.
Mount Aery Baptist Church hosted a block party on Frank Street that offered attendees rides to the polls and activities for the whole family.
Organizers said the event was meant to make voting easy and accessible for all.
"We wanted to let them know that you can early vote, we have 14 days of early voting here in Connecticut. We're making everything convenient, you can come here and eat, you can get on the van and we will take you to and from the polls for early voting," explained Joyce Meyers, a missionary at Mount Aery Baptist Church.
Meyers added that Mount Aery partnered with Grace Baptist Church in Waterbury to organize the event.
