8h agoThe office of the mayor of Bridgeport says councilwoman Evette Brantley died after she dealt with cancer for a long time.
Brantley was first elected to the council in the early 90s.
This past November, she was re-elected to the city's 132nd district.
Brantley was 65 when she died.
